Any of you fab guys want a small project?

I'm looking at setting up the bump stops correctly on my XJ. I want to do a rear bumpstop/leaf spring plate like DPG's setup or the JKS plate. I may be ok with just a plate, but would like some holes for an option to add a spacer of some sort if needed.

Anyone care to build a couple for me? Would it be worth the time, or should I just buy one of the above?

I simply welded a piece of 2x2 boxed tubing onto my leaf spring plate.

I can knock it out in a few minutes if you've got the plates off.

Frank, do you happen to have a photo of it? I'm not quite able to picture what you did.

Oh, did you weld the 2x2 parallel with the axle, in between the u-bolts, and hung it off the side of the plate toward the center of the axle?

Yep, exactly.

I simply welded a piece of 2x2 boxed tubing onto my leaf spring plate.

X2 except I used 1X2 and bolted a hockey puck to the top just under the factory bumpstop. Nice and cushy plus adjustable with more or less pucks.
