Annual TO DO list

Well lunch Saturday the MJ was steering on its own again.

We pulled the d300 apart (never do I want to do that again...I'm too old for this crap LOL)

And we find out it was not salvageable with a rebuild kit alone. The input shaft gear and the rear output shaft are both toast.

So craigslist saved the day. Found a twin sticked ( not booty fabbed like mine was) 5 miles from my house. So at midnight Sunday morning we had the new to me case in and the MJ now has all available gears useable again. Based on how this one shifts my old one was a ticking time bomb and luckily all it lost was high range. She hasn't been over 25 mph in a year. I missed driving it but I now remember why it's just a trail rig!

My list has changed.....

Fix steering box shaft seal. Done, swapped in the race jeep box....
Make sure radiator is not leaking. Leak has mysteriously disappeared....
Add rear support to the 205. Ordered: https://www.tmrcustoms.com/axle-drivetrain/transfer-case-supports/transfer-case-support-kit-np205
determine if I will address the change in shaft type and rotate my pinion down.
Fix winch solenoid pack or replace winch...... I can either swap in the single solenoid for about $100 - $200 or get a new Superwinch xrc 10K for $550... Not sure what to do here. Still more research to do.

To Do:

1. Buy a tow rig DONE - proud owner of a 2006 Hemi Commander
2. Source a trailer
3. Check fluids and nuts and bolts
4. Pack

Dirk does that mean you're gonna get stoopid this year? If you get a trailer?

I don't know about stupid, but if I can find a trailer, I am willing to try harder things. It's that whole "drive it 5 hours home" thing that's kept me cautious in the past.

Still need to finish off the exhaust re route that the new cross member caused.
Need to look at my 205 shifters. The bolt appears to be stripped..... ugh!

Any good ideas for where to put a spare tire?

1. Put rear end back together
2. Install wheel studs all around
3. Replace passenger leaf spring center pin
4. Possibly trim fenders
5. Possibly make doors removable
6. Pack

All done! Loading up after work and heading to Camden then hitting the road bright and early tomorrow morning....
