98 Grand Cherokee 'Rear Hatch Closed' switch not engaging

I have a 98 Grand Cherokee TSi. For the last few years the rear hatch not closed warning has been going off, but it's completely shut. It doesnt have a lot of play in it when closed. Where is the switch to the rear hatch? I had to pull the fuse to make all of the interior lights go off and I'm ready to make this thing work right again. Thanks!

Well, if it's anything like an older XJ, the switch for the dome lights in the hatch is contained within the latch. Maybe http://www.nagca.com/ will have more info.

Its connected to the latch or somewhere close. I took the cover off the wife's 5.9 and disconnected plugs til i found it.
