Is the manual regulator the mechanism that the crank attaches too to raise and lower the window? How do the 'cables' detach? If it is, I am interested and will pay for shipping to Salem, Or as well.

the cables don't detach on a late model XJ (on the power ones I've replaced anyway), and that is the regulator, yes. It is one complete unit that bolts into the door and to the bottom of the window glass.
