I'm getting 4.56s. I have the 4 speed automatic AW-4, I have 31" tires, and I'll have 4.56 gears. Everything else is factory. NP 231 Transfer case. 1988 Pioneer XJ. What would be my Crawl ratio ?

You can double this # to figure in the torque converter. That's the ratio I was running which wasn't bad. I had 35's, so with 31's that should work for you. Now I have: 2.8 x 4 x 5.43 = 60.81 which should work better with my 37's.
that is more than enough crawl. i have the same tranny and t-case, but 4.88 diff gears, and 35" tires. it is the perfect ratio for Fordyce and the Rubicon, maybe a little low for the Hammers trails.
