The Rusty's 3-inch XJ Suspension Kit is one the most successful items we have ever developed. Our soft spring rates along with our shocks valved specifically for this application have put this kit above the rest. All of the Rusty's 3-inch kits will clear 31 inch tires. The Advanced kit is a more fully featured version of our standard kits and includes several additional components, including upper and lower control arms, an adjustable track bar, extended length stainless steel brake hoses, and more!

Rusty's offers two front coil spring rates, either 150 lbs or 180lbs. The 180lbs springs provide the same amount of lift but will be able to handle the extra weight from a big bumper, winch, or a snow plow. Rusty's hydro shocks round out the components included with this kit, which will ride great and keep the tires on the ground!

This system includes fixed length upper and lower control arms, which correct caster and front driveline angle. Optional adjustable control arms are available to help further dial in caster, and these are also available with our forged flex ends to free up additional suspension articulation. An adjustable front track bar comes standard, along with extended brake hoses.

The Rusty's 3.5" rear spring packs have 5 leafs for a great ride and superior flex, as well as OEM style rubber bushings that don't transmit vibrations or make noise like many polyurethane bushings. Grade eight U-bolts fasten the springs to the axle. A rear brake line extension bracket is also included. Our Rusty's hydro shocks give you a great ride and keeps the tires on the ground. It all adds up to the most fully-featured 3" XJ kit on the market!

NOTE: While the majority of the Cherokees that use our 3" kit never have a problem, we will occasionally run across one that develops a slight driveline vibration once the kit is installed. This is easily solved by adding our RC-TCD1-XJ transfer case drop kit. This kit is available separately.

The Rusty's 4.5 inch Advanced suspension kit comes with everything needed to easily run 32 inch tires and includes some extra standard features that are optional with our other suspension kits, including upper control arms, extended brake lines, and our exclusive sway bar disconnects. It also gives you the clearance to maneuver through all types of terrain with no tire clearance problems. The addition of Rusty's Cut Out Flares will easily let you clear a set of 33 inch tires! Rusty's has put together a complete package using soft spring rates and shocks valved specifically for each application that will give you superior on-road handling as well as world-class off road capabilities.

Rusty's kit includes 150 lbs coil springs, our 6 leaf spring pack complete with OEM style rubber bushings, grade 8 U-bolts and rear spring degree shims.. This kit comes standard with a set of Rusty's beefy lower control arms and a transfer case drop kit to correct driveline angles. A Rusty's adjustable track bar is also included (no wimpy brackets that cause problems here!) along with Rusty's exclusive sway bar quick-disconnects. Rusty's Hydro shocks round out the package, with our monotube and remote reservoir shocks available as upgrades.

To make the most of your suspension's performance, Rusty's also has several optional upgrades available. These include a set of adjustable upper and lower control arms to correct the wheelbase and caster once the vehicle is lifted and three shock choices. Rusty's XJ Cheroke 4.5" Long Travel Kit

he new Rusty's Off Road 4.5" long travel suspension was developed for those that want the off-road performance of a long-travel kit but like to keep things low and would rather trim sheetmetal to clear tires than go higher in lift height. This kit has all the same features of our taller long-travel kits, just in a shorter lift height. It takes you places other vehicles can't go; over logs, big boulders or over just about anything else on the trail. We have applied race technology and over 4 years of research and development to deliver a suspension system with enough articulation to keep your rig firmly planted even over the most radical terrain.

The system starts with new radius-style control arms that are completely adjustable, both the long lower arm as well as the upper link. The arms utilize factory rubber control arm bushings to ensure that no noise or vibrations are transmitted through the unibody. The arms are constructed of 2" diameter D.O.M. tubing, so go ahead and bash them against rocks and ledges because they can take the abuse and keep right on going!

The new control arms bolt to a new 3/16" thick steel, laser cut crossmember that is surrounded by Rusty's frame reinforcement brackets. The 3/16" laser cut reinforcement brackets are located both on the outside and the inside of the unibody and basically sandwich it, tying the unibody and the new crossmember together as one solid unit. This design distributes the extreme loads from the suspension over a much larger area of the unibody and assures many years of extreme four-wheeling without any structural damage to the unibody. The crossmember's design does not reduce ground clearance and also drops the transfer case relieve driveline angles. Our optional Transfer Case Skid Plate can be easily added for further protection and support.

For '87-'89 XJ Cherokees with the manual transmissions, most used a Peugot transmission. You will simply need to drill holes to match the Peugot using the mount as a template. When ordering, please indicate which transmission you have in the 'Notes' section.

Due to the thinness of the Jeep unibody, we've designed our long-arm kits to be completely bolt-on Although it is possible to weld to the unibody, the longevity of the weld in questionable. The unibody is only 16 guage (.060 in.) and the heat of a weld stresses the thin metal. Even though the weld itself may not crack, the unibody around it may. While the unibody is welded from the factory, this was done with precision robotically-controlled welders with heat sensors to create welds that were much more precise than even the most skilled human welder. Our bolt-on systems are not only more durable than a weld-on system due to the extensive reinforcement involved, but they are also much easier to install. Our clamped/sleeved mounting system uses 1" x3/16" thick tubes through the unibody, which creates a larger surface area that distributes stresses over a larger area than a weld-on installation. In addition, we use adjustable control arms that not only allow easy caster adjustment but also incorporate pivot points designed for suspension flex, which further eliminates stress on the unibody mounts.
