We had a fantastic turnout of 23 Jeepspeeders at the Parker 425 last weekend. 20 in Class 1700 Genarl Tire Jeepspeed Challenge with 15 finishers. 3 in Jeepspeed Mopar Outlaws Cup with all 3 finishing.
Jeepspeed Challenge winner Todd Jackson in a WJ 4x4 with Jeepspeed 4.0 crate motor, 2nd Tom Thorvick XJ 2wd, 3rd Eric Heiden XJ 4x4.
Jeepspeed Outlaws winner Billy Bunch TJ Unlimited with Jeepspeed 4.7 crate motor, 2nd Bob Mamer XJ with 6" stretch, 3rd Brandon Berge ZJ.
Next race Mint 400 Las Vegas March 24th. Go to www.jeepspeed.com for more info.

Have to look at the rules again to see where our stock class Ultra4 XJ would be competitive. We don't have motor or travel restrictions, but we can't go through the floor or wheel wells for any suspension modifications. Puts us in kind of a weird place for fitting into Jeepspeed rules.

It was really cool, when we were on our second lap we must have passed 10 jeep speed vehicles in a row, all real close, and on the road there was a couple probably doing close to 80mph.

Richard you guys would have a blast in Jeep Speed, King of the Hammers is cool, but look at how many races you could do, and some are so killer like Silver State.

Have to look at the Outlaw class, is that 3700? See what we can do to stay with those guys.

You were probably catching us as we started our race for us to all be so close.
We had our first finish, finishing 11th after 12:15 on course.

How did you guys do?

We had a really good day, 1st in class, 24th overall. we had a really fast first lap and clicked it way off. We really wanted a win at Parker. Probably should have kept the pace, it would have gave us a easy 16th-18th finish. We will see if we can keep it going, it was our 3rd win in a row, hopefully the luck has not run out.

Was out at KOH today looking at some of the cars. John Curries Wrangler would do real well at Jeepspeed as he has a 14" shock that fits up into the rear wheel well. Haven't looked too close at XJs but maybe a shock that goes thru floor to upper mount on the cage for Jeepspeed then a plate that covers the hole when you run KOH with your other shocks? Would that work? Front travel is not an issue. Although 3700 class limits to 15" at this time all the cars we measured at Parker were btween 10 and 14"e

Hmmm.......how do we deal with having to buy new wheels and tires. Can we rent them for a race to see if we like it? :D

Parker was a fantastic race, great showing of XJ's. We started 11, by RM 40 we were in first by corrected time. We got stuck in the silt around RM 53.. lap 2 passed about RM 30, took a roll onto our lid, were down for about 2 hours fixing stuff and topping off fluids.. managed to pull 7th.. Not to bad considering. The mint is going to be a Blast!!!!

Here is a video of 1773 passing most everyone in front of us.. hope you enjoy!
