So, our local club, CAOS, had the annual Ultimate CAOS Adventure this weekend.....bring what you need, drive what you're bringing, no trailers, no hotels...primitive camping only...and 3 days on the trail....we had a pretty diverse group...thought you guys would appreciate some pics.

no trailers eh?

the s10, YJ and, Tubed Bronco look a little wicked for being street driven.

that reminds me of the Octane Outlaws annual february sand run.

great times, primitive camping out in the middle of the Oregon Dunes.

of course its not like a desert, we'd stay back in the trails under tree cover, some of the best camping i've ever done.

looks like you had a great time!

EDIT:

here's a couple shots of our camp site in '08

Yeh, that's the whole point, gotta be "somewhat" streetable...and they really don't have any vehicular laws down here. You'd be surprised what's legal on the road.
This is how I started wheeling way back in '90, in SoCal. They were usually weekend camping/trail riding with GadZuks. We went up to Pismo Beach every year....miss that....I think it was 1500 acres of dunes...lots O fun, and the sand was usually soft for a good night sleep! Bet Oregon Dunes was fun!

miss it a lot.

where we go is IIRC 11 miles long and 3 or 4 wide from highway to ocean.

correction. about 2 miles

and the little red arrow shows where our campsite was in relation to everything.

where was your trip at?

What did you do, drive it through a mud puddle or something?

Looks like a fun trip.

Looks like a fun trip.

It was a really deep mud puddle! One of the other guys tagged me in a really good pic of that puddle....the mud got pretty high up there as I was trying to climb out of it!

looks like a good time Andy... how'd the XJ do?

Looked like you had a fair amount of clearance in the rear wheel wells!

~ Stump

It's funny you mention that...cause somewhere, I made contact on both sides at the front of the rear wheel wells, peeled up the bottom of one, and bent one. Not sure how it happened. I flexed it and looked at it while sitting on the bumps...actually was thinking I could take out 2 plates on each side....maybe not. I'll have to take a closer look. The only other thing I can think of, is the rock rails moving...and I USED each of them pretty well up that rock garden!:viking:

looks like fun andy!

so yall rode the gardendale trails the whole weekend or what?

We started at the CAOS club land, 282, on Friday, road miles over to the Gardendale area, camped Friday night, broke camp and wheeled Gardendale, ended Saturday night back at 282, camped Sat night, and wheeled Sunday at 282. It was a blast. It's been years since I'd been on the Gardendale trails...:tear: Me likey some rocks:viking: The Claws did well at 10lbs:cheers:

Was that your first time on Rockgarden I? That's some fun stuff. I much prefer that to some steep, rutted hill climb!:viking:

I've been up the Rock Gardens several times. It was a staple when I had my YJ. I think Rock Garden 2 is my favorite trail out there.
