2000 XJ cracked head...anyone not have the problem?

Has anyone ever cut up a cracked head? I wonder if there is a problem with voids in the head as cast? I've heard about the head cracking problem, but assumed it was from uneven heating at high temps. That's what usually kills aluminum heads. It would be interesting to slap a damaged head on a band saw and see what the metal looks like under the surface.

Two 01 XJs one bad head gasket at 57k other has 114k and going strong.

'01 XJ 94k never overheated cooling system maintained perfectly head cracked anyway.

I'm currently working on getting a junkyard head from an '04 WJ.
