NAXJA Member #820
Location
Warrenville
$500

Country trim package, 4-door, blue exterior with grey interior, PS/PB, cruise, power
windows, 167,000 miles, budget boost (front spring spacer, rear add-a-leaf)

The Good:
- 4.0 engine
- AW4 automatic transmission
- NP242 (replaced with a rebuilt unit ~5 years ago) with Tom Woods SYE and
rear driveshaft
- Radiator, Cat, both O2 sensors, and starter less than 2 years old
- Alternator less than 1 year old
- Fog lights and headlight brightener installed

The Bad:
- Rust: front floorboards rotted out, some rocker panel rust, rust spot at the top of the
driver's side A-pillar
- cracked exhaust manifold
- no power to the overhead console (it's all there, it just quit working)
- front parking lights and driver's side turn signal not working (probably a corroded
connector)
- on a warm re-start, the engine will stumble - punch it once and it smooths right out
until the next warm re-start
- driver's side rear door button pushed all the way in and dropped inside the door
- AC doesn't work
- 4WD dash lights indicate 'full-time' when in 2WD, 'part-time' when in any 4WD selction
(I never did get the right switch when I replaced the transfer case)

The Ugly:
- various nicks, chips and scratches (about what you would expect for a 14 year old car)
- paint/clear-coat on the hood has oxidized
- silver "lace" wheels clear-coat oxidized
- Bridgestone 30x9.50 Dueler AT REVO tires (will need replacing soon)

I don't have the time or space to mess with it, so I bought a newer Cherokee as a DD.

Cheese dude -

Do you know what rear end it has? And how bad are the floors?

It's got the Chrysler 8.25 rear end (27 spline, I believe). The front driver's side floor pan is gone from the u-channel to the rocker panel, the front passenger side has a couple of large holes in it (it's not as bad as the driver's side).

If I didn't have 5 Jeeps already I'd buy this from you...it looks good!
I just picked up a 91' YJ Flintstones Jeep.
Just a little more work, this is normal living here in the rust belt!
