03 Rubicon TJ locker in a XJ factory D44?

Yes, as long as the carrier is from a TJ Rubicon D44.
You will need to order a 'THICK' ring and pinion set as the TJ Rubi 44's use a series 3 carrier which is the 3.73 and down r&P carrier. Also, the TJ ring gears use 7/16" ring gear bolts instead of the standard 3/8" ring gear bolt. This means the carrier will be drilled for the larger bolt and you will need gears that use the larger bolt. So be sure to get a TJ Rubicon D44 thick gear set.
Besides that there is NO difference between the TJ Rubicon D44 and the XJ Dana 44. You can even swap axle shafts between them.
