I am trying to have everything gathered up so my Jeep isn't down and in pieces too long. If I get a chance tomorrow I will pull the brake booster from the parts Jeep, the 97, and match it to the 95 clutch pedal assembly.
Well it may end up being a cut and weld, I now have pedal assemblies from a 1995 and a 1997. Also appears the clutch master cylinders are slightly different to, the pre 97s bolt straight up and the 97 has the top bolt kicked to the left a little. something is gonna work, lol.
I located one locally if I get it before the crusher while off work this weekend. Thanks guys, I found a bunch on eBay for mine but I can get the 87 for free and the jeep I bought for tranny is a 97, lol, was trying not to spend $250 if I could get away with it and use the pre 91 set.
Does anyone know if the clutch/brake pedal assembly for pre 90s XJ will work in 91-96? Picking up a 97 XJ to swap the 5spd in my 93 auto this week. A guy local has an 80 something XJ I can get parts from.
Really good idea Anak, thank you! If anyone has some that would be great before i hack these up next month. Will give that a try as I get closer to starting the swap.
I have a a rusted beyond use complete 1997 xj w/5 speed. I want to swap the 5 spd to my 94, the pedals seem to be my biggest concern and seems near impossible to find in my area. Is there a chance these pedals will work with light fab or drilling new holes?
My Lokka has been in for a few months now and it does make some noise in sharp turns like parking lot situations. But under normal day to day use you never know its there until you need it.
I put the black ones on mine with a 3" lift, works great so you should have no problem. I have had them in for over a month and pretty happy with them.
Now you mention that, naw, lol. I am happy with how it ended up, and rides decent.
Not sure what you mean by cutting the leaves down but I would have tried it by the 3rd time probably.
Yep from the center of hub to bottom of flare. I finally got it to 3" like was mention above with just the S-10 main w/eyes cut off. I think there are alot of variants with the bastard packs because the JY I got mine from there was alot of s-10s and I saw a few different leaf spring set ups...
LOL, I feel that way to but got a free whole day tomorrow so I will give it one more try at 3", worst case scenario I will end up with a new shackle in the back.
Well, got up feeling chipper today and decided I would redo the bastard pack. Now its xj main, s10 main, s10 2nd, xj 3rd and xj 4th. Still lokks raked but back measures only 1 1/4" higher than front. Front is 20" from center of wheel and back is 21 1/4".
Is it really that noticable are am I...
You are not kidding, was definitely not easy getting the S-10 leafs in, after I got everything together and setting on its own tires I backed it out to see it, saw the difference in front and back height and thought "SOB" lol
Lol, yeah, like most things, I learn the hard way. Oh well, it will be much easier removing bolts when I work on it again Monday.
I am thinking I will just try the S-10 main and rest XJ?
