Bridgestone Dueler A/T - any comments?

Holy old thread batman!! :moon:  I don't even have my XJ anymore, I got rid of it in July and replaced it with a ZJ. I replied to this thread in June, of 2003. On the new ZJ, I put the BFG AT KO's on it and couldn't be happier. I think the ko's are better than the duellers, but the...

    D35 inner axle seal

I already have the shaft removed on my 88 xj and I need to know how to get the axle seal out. I am talking about the one that remains in the axle tube after the shaft is removed. Thanks

    D35 axle seals

My rear axle is leaking oil and I need to change the seals. Should I still do both the inner, outer and replace the bearing while in there, or would I be okay just replacing the inner seals. Also, does anyone know of where there is a write up on the net? Thanks

    erg valve and engine stalling

I just disco'd the vac line at the solenoid, and plugged up the hole in the solonoid. I didn't disco the wiring, so by what you are saying the solonoid is still working just not the valve, right :dunno:

    erg valve and engine stalling

You could also just disconnect the EGR Valve soloneid which is on the fender right behind the fuel pump resistor. Disco'd mine 6 months ago because of the stalling.

You can get a whole new trac bar online for 50 bucks shipped. Check 4wd.com or I'm sure someone else will chime in with a different website. HTH

    Trac bar question

Thanks for the response. So the only problem I should encounter is just needing to add a couple washers then?

    Trac bar question

Would a trac bar from a 98 xj fit on my 88 xj? I picked one up cheap a while ago without checking if it would fit. That is all.

    High Idle Blues

Try adjusting the tps. I'm sure someone here has the specs. If not, for me lubing my throttle linkage worked for me.

    Dana 30 non-disco info?

I have an 88 XJ non disco d30 and the axle tubes are dry. There are seals inside the diff. There are just dust covers at the knuckle end. You can get seals for the outside though. HTH RaiderXJ

    water pump Q???

When I changed the water pump, i broke the bolts loose before I removed the belt. Then after I took the belt off, they threaded right out with my fingers. Also, you could try one of those craftsman strap wrenches. They work pretty good. HTH

    Vents

This is just a shot in the dark, but did you install a new radio in the dash lately? I've heard that by doing this you can knock a vac line loose on the back of the heater sw assy. Just a thought

    Ok I am a idiot

I did the same thing on mine when I did my axle shafts. Except I didn't put it on at all. Realized it though before I had the hub fully bolted on.

I agree, mine worked great in the snow and ice this past winter.I kinda wished I could spin around corners a little though. Good offroad tire.

R-134 Conversion - Looking for opinions

Is this the kit that comes with adapter fittings for the low-side and high side? I bought a kit for my wife's car yesterday to fill her A/C and it came with the fittings for a r-12 system and the instructions said that all you needed to do for a r-12 system was to evacuate the r-12, install the...

    exhaust manifold

Nope, from what I understand the manifold was changed in 2000 to a 2 down pipe design with 2 pipes going into one collector and then to the cat. If I'm wrong someone correct me

    High idle with start!

Have you checked for any kind of vacuum leaks? I've been fighting mine for a while but mine would go up to 3000rpm sometimes and not come down. I don't know if I fixed it yet or not, but I greased the throttle return spring and the throttle cable and linkage and so far so good. Hasn't done it...
