I have mine hinged passenger side with the tire on that side as well. Either side the tire is mounted you are not going to be able to see. Sticking a 33+ tire on the back takes a lot of real estate and going to block the majority of the window any way you dice it. if you have your mirrors...
I have currently on there a 32. I don't see what could be holding back what size it could hold besides tire width. I don't think a 14.5 wide tire would fit but I really have no idea, anyone is more than welcome to try it. The gentleman I bought it from had a 35x12.5 on it before me.
I am finally building a swing out tire carrier to replace it. It is heavy duty. It is constructed of .25 plate and .25 wall 2x2 tubing. When the unit is folded down it can be used for a seat, diving board, or what ever else you could think of. Comes in handy strapping someones truck that is...
I have a Rusty's brace I used on my stock steering. I now have a Durango steering box and it has larger diameter bottom portion with cast gussets and I can no longer use the brace.
I will take an actual photo tomorrow if anyone needs it.
It is drop in, did this a month ago since my stock box bit the dust.
Just add 2 washers between the box and the frame to make a tad more clearance for the larger diameter of the body.
No complaints as far as steering throw either, but I do have a few washers under my stops to save my u...
Lol.
I just caved and bought the pump. The reservoir was half as much as the pump so i figured since I have to take the pump out to replace the reservoir any ways might as well put a fresh pump in there. It is a dumb design. I was changing out my steering box and i kinked both lines...
I Have UTK steering. I didn't want to venture into OTK because of dealing with the track bar. Either way my Ruff stuff cover would still be an issue. It would probably be easier to notch the cover UTK versus OTK cause of where the tie rod is located on the cover.
I really like the notching of the cover. I have the same size tubing for my steering and have a ruff stuff cover(similar to the ballistic). I have had to adjust my steering stops quite a bit to avoid contacting the diff cover and had to grind down the head of my trac bar bolt to allow equal...
I ran a VJ ZJ shaft for my rear shaft for a period of time. I had the drive shafts side by side and the v8 zj shaft is quite beefier. I actually want to have my drive shaft shortened since I have a custom rear shaft now and run the ZJ shaft in the front instead of the stocker.
