check to see if the egr valve is hanging up. if the transducer is melted, it may be.

110 foot pounds except the front drivers side. coat those threads lightly with thread sealer and torque it to 100 ft lbs

not sure about the whining noise ,but it also sounds like the lower intake gasket may be blown

keyless entry is controlled by the passenger door module. take the vin to the dealer and they can give a printout with all the options on your jeep.

you can access the cps from under the hood without lowering or removing anything. it just sits on the top of the bell housing on the upper right side. you cannot see it but you can feel the bolts. they should be 6mm hex head bolts.

that wont work for the lamp monitor. the bulbs have to be the correct ones and working

87's had the 4.0, if it is 2.8 its probably an 86 or older. the 2.8's leak from the intake manifold and the valve covers if the leak is coming from the top of the engine

make sure the marker bulbs on the sides of the rear lenses are working and make sure all of the third brake lamps are working and all sockets must have the correct bulb. i believe the third brake lamp bulbs are 922's. determine if it comes on when hitting the brakes or turning the lights on to...

doesnt have a fuel filter on a '98.

have you chacked the basics, plug wires or dist, cap for corrosion under the wires. also, the v8's were known to blow out the intake gasket under the manifold. one way to check for that problem is to see if there is vacuum on the breather tube where it attaches to the air cleaner.

steering wheel controls on eqiprred models

is the window lock out switch on. if not it sounds like a master switch.

sounds like a bad hub bearing, if it gets louder when you turn or put a load on one wheel it is prob the bearing on that side.

the power valves on the carb leak, but i think it would make it run rich and not so much popping. if it is popping trough the carb, i would recheck the firing order or possibly a sticking valve. you may also have a loose or bad plug wire or a misgapped plug
