Hello everyone . I have a RE 3.5 kit with full leaf pack installed on my XJ . I am trying to get more lift out of it to run 32" tires with the stock fenders .
here is my idea :::
using the RE shackles that give an extra 1.25" in the rear and replacing my 3.5" coil springs with RE 4.5 coils ...
considering the hi-lift jack only gets used during wheeling trips .... i was think of taking this approch :
installing this mounting bracket (link below) to my stock OEM rear bumper & only attaching the jack when going wheeling :: that way its out of the elements and at same time not taking up...
Rusty's makes thier control arms to house OEM size control arm bushings. replace old bushings with an OEM bushing maker such as Moog . or replace them with poly bushings from someone like energy suspension . although, note that if you use poly bushings , you must save your old bushing metal...
thx xcm ! pictures rock . looks to me like i have limited slip after looking at pictures . i added friction modifier yeasterday just to be safe , cant hurt . i will also jack the jeep up tomorrow and spin the wheels/tires so there is no doubt in my mind . Big THANKS to all you guys for your help...
nothing in glove box . and nothing inside diff but serial #s .at the shop i will jack her up and spin wheels to see if the both turn tuesday in order to find out . just thought there would be an easier way , like able to tell by looking inside once cover is off or something . thanks for all...
Ok i just got the build sheet on my Jeep . Nowhere does it say "Trac-lok Limited slip " although it does say : "Command-Trac Part Time 4WD System" is this a limited slip ? or would it flat out say limited slip somewhere on build sheet ? ... Thanks so much for your help and time ! :yelclap:

i have a chrysler 8.5 rear axle / pretty sure its limited slip ( thought they all were ) .. need to know if i need to add the friction modifier when changing gear oil . if so do i need to use the oem stuff from jeep or can i use off the shelf additive ? i have gotten mixed answers from previous...
well the driving 500 black magics are only 115$ and well worth it // comes with complete kit and evrything you need to install . just ass powerfull light as the normal 500 series driving light . just looks better in some peoples opinion. the light spectrum is rated the exact same. i have a pair...

i had the same problem ... being rubicon monotube shocks are on back order for like ever. .. i went with the pro comp MX6 adjustable shock . not the xj one but a wrangler shock with the same mounting and same length ... the xj mx6 shocks are too short ....
not sure if i have the know how to handle your suggestions. i can change spark plugs and do minor installs but this will be something im not sure i can tackle . do you recommend i take it to a transmission shop and tell them the problems i am having ? or you think they will charge arm and leg ...
