    Using serpentine belt tension gauge

I had one pump bearing go out. I think it was due to me over tightening the belt. I believe it was after that I got the tool. If you put your finger on the belt near the power steering pulling it harder to press down on that if you go further to the water pump pulley. Keeping this in mind I...

4 hour trip produced elevated cooling system temps.

Well maybe you can find a cheaper place, but I got mine from Amazon for $140 shipped.

Radiator Fan Override Switch (The Easy Way)

Maybe I didn't follow the directions correctly but when I tried this mod on my 98 I got a "Check Engine" light. I had to wire mine differently. I've been using it for I guess 6 months and no issues.

Radiator Fan Override Switch (The Easy Way)

If I forget to turn the switch off when I get in and I turn the key to run my electric fan comes on. So in the way I have it wired it only runs with the key on and the switch on. I never understood why it is a desirable thing to have the fan on after the engine is off. Specifically after the...

4 hour trip produced elevated cooling system temps.

lol Well keep in mind that one of my FIRST attempts to fix the problem was to replace the radiator with a 3 row all metal, and the BELIEF that I couldn't do better than that in the radiator department caused me to keep looking for the solution elsewhere. The CSF 3 row all metal radiator WASN'T...

4 hour trip produced elevated cooling system temps.

If you are hiding from the authorities you should turn yourself in, if you're part of the war on terror, thank you for your service! ;) Yeah this has been beyond frustrating. Funny thing is the point that I was willing to try a single row aluminum/plastic radiator again was because of mounting...

4 hour trip produced elevated cooling system temps.

I forgot to mention that I also changed the catalytic convert when I changed the muffler. I guess it was already clear that a clogged cat wasn't my issue, nor is the the spring missing from the lower radiator hose.

4 hour trip produced elevated cooling system temps.

After 3 years I have found the solution to my heat creep on the highway. Things tried... A good flushing (multiple times coolant nice and green for years now) along with changing all hoses and belt. CSF 3 row all metal radiator FAIL CSF small leak repaired and flow test performed! FAIL Heavy...

Radiator Fan Override Switch (The Easy Way)

Radiator Fan Override Switch (The Easy Way)

Jeep Cherokees and the people that have them are great fun. I do all the stuff I am doing because I enjoy it. Still it's great to have a pat on the back. The most recent thing is a ustream.tv "live" show and a audio only podcast for later listening. At it's heart it's a talk show about Jeep...

Radiator Fan Override Switch (The Easy Way)

Hey thanks for the reply. I purposely didn't mention my site as I didn't want to be doing FREE advertising on another Jeep XJ site. :D The site pretty much runs itself, so I've been spending more time setting up for a live ustream show and podcast. This is a great mod and it really helped me...

Thanks! Yeah we got several new members from doing Houston area meets and greets. I know other xjtalk members have had meet and greets in El Paso and in California. Now one in New Zealand would be cool! I'd like to drive to that one!

I don't normally see this much arguing until the hard liquor comes out on Thanksgiving day! With that said xxmidianxx I personally had a good time wheeling with you just before they closed down the park (I can't remember the name of it now!). I was happy to see you on xjtalk, and...

Radiator Fan Override Switch (The Easy Way)

This worked on my 1998, but I only have 1 DB/WT wire and it wasn't the right one. Checking several of the DB wires I found a DB/OR (OR=Orange?) that had 12 volts on it only when the engine was running. I used that one to power the relay. Oh and the "Check Engine" light cleared from a prior...
