So would you gut the proportioning valve or keep it as is? Or get one out of G Cherokee? What has the masses already done?

So I swapped in the disks off a Grand Cherokeee this weekend. The brakes work great but I wonder if I should gut the proportioning valve? Some folks say yes and others say no. Please share me your knowledge and tell me what you have done. Thanks T

My dad wants to trade his 16x10 5 spoke alloy wheels for some 16x8 off of his 98' Dodge 3/4 ton. 8 lug, the tires on them are not very good, maybe 4 or 5/32 of tread left on the 285/75/16.
