    Ignition and Spark Tables...

I know there was a post here on OBD-II scanners, where some people had got some ignition timing readings at various states, such as idle, cruise, WOT. I don't think you will find anything better than that.

    New bushings on old jeep

My sway bar bushings are poly, and don't get noisy until after about 3-4 months and which point I grease them up and they get quiet again. I should have gotten the ones with zerk fitting, so I don't have to keep taking them off, but i guess its not that bad. I'm guessing there is probably...

    New bushings on old jeep

Well i've managed to find some free time, so was looking into doing some maintenance on my 93 XJ(2wd). I've done the major things, but now I'm looking at bushings, as I'm guessing after 15years there probably not in the best shape. Also, pretty much every boot is torn, and has been for years...

99 belt tensioner on 93 XJ

I gound off part off the timing chain cover, but it will still to close to belt. I then put back the AC idler pulley, which took up a little slack and I could tighten belt without it touching, but it is still pretty close. This is using the belt from a 99. I might try and find a smaller belt...

    Testing Injectors

I obtained some injectors from a newer(99) XJ, and was pondering swapping them into my 93. Of course assuming mine are working fine, I don't see how there could a be a benefit. So my question is,, is there anyway to test injector to see if is worth replacing? The only way I see is hooking...

99 belt tensioner on 93 XJ

I broke the belt tensioner on my 93 so I figured I could just fix it, or I could upgrade it. I chose the latter by getting complete 99 XJ intake, fuel rail, injectors, PS pump and bracket($60 at Junkyard). I got everything on, but I've run into a problem with belt routing. I got the belt from...

Jeep 2500 Parts... I found them here...

Well, I've been following this thread and I would be interested in front end + taillights. Think the rear bumper/bumper caps would fit? My in smashed up, and I've been playing with the idea of going 97+, but this may be cheaper since I can't find any junkyard 97+ XJ's. All this is going on 93XJ.

2000 Intake Manifold: Is it really worth it?

I believe that unless you have a 96+ XJ, that you also need the Power Steering Pump assembly, or need to fab a bracket. What I've heard is that the mounting changed, and wont drop straight in unless you have the newer PS pump(96+)

    Jeep 4.0 Volumetric Efficiency

I assuming you mean idle in D ign = 14? Im wondering why there would be difference between neutral and drive. I'm assuming neutral is same as park. I wonder if less advance at idle saves gas or something, or maybe its a emissions thing. I would have though total advance at WOT would have...

    Jeep 4.0 Volumetric Efficiency

Thats interesting about the MPG, having the conflicting results of MPG dropping after 55 or 65: The ignition timing was also interesting, thanks for collecting that data. I had just assumed that max advance was 36, but it appears its as high as 42 under lean cruise as you stated. Two areas...

    Jeep 4.0 Volumetric Efficiency

Thanks for getting that info. Know that it cruises about 33-36 degrees is helpful, because typically that will be max advance, as your usually running lean during this period.

    Xj downpipe questions

Yeah, the downpipe in my 93' was 2", and with the kink in it, i knew it wasn't good for performance. I had a 2.25" pipe fabricated, cost me like $50. I believe the header collector is 2.25", so I don't know if going to 2.5" will do much.

    Jeep 4.0 Volumetric Efficiency

Only renix XJ's had knock sensors. Putting in 93 octane fuel would do nothing for timing.

    Jeep 4.0 Volumetric Efficiency

Hey, I'm working on a standalone ECU, and have been messing around with ignition timing table. It had no reference point, so its been a pain. Do you think you could capture several data points for me. Like, what rpm do you get max advance, what is max advance, idle advance. Basically, it...

    Turbo charged 4.0 xj

I was looking for places to mount an intercooler also. Theres an below radiator and fans, directly behind bumper. Its about 17" across between power steering and frame, aout 6" high, and 4" deep. The sheet metal between the bumper and this area could be cut I assume, or maybe left alone since...

Some recent 4.0L turbo fabrication work...

Cool pics. Noticed the manifold flange had that triangle piece added? Was it hitting something without it? Would it not just worked just angling the flange out differently? Not saying its better that way, just wondering. Does the turbo need to be supported by something else besides the...
