I've got a wrecked but running '89 in my yard and an'86 4runner w/ a dying engine. So i'm thinking of pulling the 4.0 and putting it in the 4runner. Since wiring is not my favorite thing in the world does anyone know what's the minimum I need to keep hooked up to the computer for the 4.0 to run?

ehall has a good write up of this. I reccomend welding in new pins or using ones that are completely removable, and to drill down into the top of the hinge to ease replacing the door rather than just cutting the pins at an angle. As for the electrics, I ripped all mine but the speaker .
It may just be me, but EVERY RENIX I've worked on had duct tape on the loom somewhere. Usually around the splice/junction of yellow wires and some around the splice/junction of black wires. Or anyplace some felt the need to 'add' something in 'professional' manner.

WJ lowers are similar. They have a curve in them as well and also have larger bushings to control NVH better. just grind the bushing down to the right width or follow Go-Jeeps exammple and spread the LCA mounts
