    Torque converter bolts

That's funny, Joe. What basics do you need other than can be found in my username? Were there differences in the torque converter used during the years?

    Torque converter bolts

During the process of rebuilding my trans, my torque converter bolts managed to walk away and I have no idea what they look like, and I can't even see the threads on the TC anymore. Does anyone have the specs on those bolts?

    AW4 rebuild question

Ya I had a weak solenoid for a long time, causing my first/reverse pack to be just about gone. Some of the clutch discs had no material left on them! Thanks for the heads up.

    AW4 rebuild question

Yes, those are the split rings. The pistons are definitely good too. I guess the only way to know for sure is to install it and see what happens. Hell, it's only 3 hours to take it back out again anyway. Thanks for the info, I really appreciate it. P.S. How did your rebuild turn out? And...

    AW4 rebuild question

Hey all, I am in the process of rebuilding my AW4 and have finished installing all of the rotating assembly. Per the manual, I have applied air pressure to the feed holes to confirm piston movement/clutch engagement. All of the pistons can be heard engaging the clutch packs, but I can hear...

    Rear Tire Carrier

Mine hinges off of 2 points on the receiver, leaving the receiver open. It latches to the bumper and while the holes are just oversized, gravity pretty well keeps it from rattling. It has made it a bit of a chore getting into the hatch, but it is worth it and I think it looks cool

Help! Wheel bearing assembly stuck in steering knuckle

I ended up putting a 3/8" extension between the outer part of the joint and the hub assembly (similar to what was hsown with the bolt) and it screached and ground its way out of the orifice. Now if doing the u-joint was only that easy. NOBODY had one that would fit right, but with a file and...

Help! Wheel bearing assembly stuck in steering knuckle

Carfax said this thing came from the east coast, and it shows. Any ideas on how to get the wheel bearing assembly unstuck from the knuckle? Put the bolts back in most of the way and smacked on them, tried wedging my way between the two parts as well with no luck. Is currently soaking in WD40...

    teeter totter

Okay, so I got home and jacked her up and the issue is definitely with the u joint on the right side of the axle. Has anyone been down this road in recent history? I can't tell if I can replace it without removing the whole hub assembly and removing the whole shaft.

    teeter totter

Been having a problem for about a week now, or maybe I just haven't noticed it before. When I am backing up in a left hand turn or going forward while turning right, I get some slow back and forthe from the steering wheel. If I let it go as I am rolling, it will stay still for a second, then...

    Valve Cover/Oil Leak Question

If you are going to do one, you may as well do both, so you won't be in that position again.

    Valve Cover/Oil Leak Question

Yes. You can see in this pic the groove where the O ring fits. Do a search for this, as you will need a torx socket, and with the tight fit, you will need to cut the torx socket down, or weld it to something you can turn it with

    Valve Cover/Oil Leak Question

The O ring under the oil filter adapter tends to get deformed and the seal is gone, that is the most likely location of your oil leak. Mine had to start leaking like crazy before I found that was it.

Not a Jeep, but need help. Blown Piston in 04 Sentra Nissan says MUD build up?

I am thinking that high back pressure would feed high heat, and the combination of those could lead to detonation, but this is mostly an uneducated opinion, plus I have been drinking. If memory serves, the Spec V has a 2.5 and can rev to pretty high RPMs, which I think should be able to blow...

best header and where to buy

I bought the manifold from autopn.com last year, could not be happier. I have heard bad reviews for all of the others, but not this one

    02 codes

What does your temp usually sit at while idling? Does it seem to shift fine, instead of late or early? If the needle was bouncing one or more of your injectors could be opening too far.

My first welding experience, happened to be a tire carrier

Not sheet metal screws. They are 1/4 bolts with a philips head, and on the other side, they also go through a piece of 1" angle iron that runs the whole length between them. I may in fact be changing the whole way that it atatches to the bumper to something a little tighter.

My first welding experience, happened to be a tire carrier

That is the wife's Liberty, and it a sport. Next time will definitely opt for the Renegade though :) And yes Alex, I am dying for a lift, which will probably happen in the next month or two. The brackets that the hitch pins go through are attached to the stock bumper, which also pass through a...
