    Maryland XJ people

Well I always hear the AX-5 is weak.... but mine has 300k of abuse on it and is just now dropping outta gear when no load on it.... No movement of the shifter just drops outta gear in all gears. Maybe the blocking rings are shot? I need cheap and quick fix right now as the poor girl is getting...

    Maryland XJ people

Hey guys I'm here looking for a bit of help.... The AX-5 in my trusty old beater has just about given up on me after 300k miles. If you know of someone who has one laying in the corner of the garage or know of a junkyard that has any 84-86 V6 XJ's could ya let me know? I'm in Smithsburg.

best addons for making my OME lift a lil higher

Well about 50% will get away with 4" on stock LCA's, and the other 50% will get death wobble. From my experience and what I've heard the RRO guys are the type that will tell you to put a dual stabilizer on so you can cover up the problem instead of doing it right the 1st time. If you don't mind...

    Jag V12

A Buick GN engine would be the best bang.... easy to fit light and gobs of horsepower, or the OF V6 from when Kaiser was building them if you want gobs of torque.... while you can still get valve train parts like hi po cams and roller lifters ect... from places like Kenne Bell for the old 215's...

can anyone beat my gas mileage

My 04 F350 with the 6.0 can't seem to break the 10 mpg ceiling when the 28' GN with about 10k on it is hooked to it, hills or not... which has been sort of a dissapointment so far (the 6.0's were supposed to get better mileage than the 7.3's). But it's still better than the ole 2wd 78 f250 with...

can anyone beat my gas mileage

Dunno why no one caught this yet but ...... ~15% bigger tires= 15% less mileage shown on the odometer. So it's really 15% better than you're thinking it is.... but it still does suck :) :) Mike B.

best addons for making my OME lift a lil higher

At 3" (934's and JC1A's w/RE shackles) the regular OME shocks were too short for mine, I had to use the Long travel versions. Mike B.

    OME springs

I'm running 934's and JC1A's w/RE shackles on my 86..... worked out to be 3" both front and rear. In back I have a BPI bumper, KargoMaster rack, and the spare up on the rack. In front is an AJ's Bumper w/ push bar which is pretty heavy.... She sits nice and level with that spring & shackle combo...

Is 8 psi in tires OK at highway speeds???

I believe Eagle may have omitted the P from his tire size? That makes quite a difference as P series tire typically have much softer sidewalls than LT's. In the case of P series tires I completely agree with what he said... In the case of LT's I stand by what I wrote earlier, the 36" Bias TSL's...

    86 Cherokee 2.8 to 4.3 swap Help

Don't have much to add here really since you are set on not using the 3.4. But I'll throw in my little testimonial here anyways..... ..... The 3.4 out of a 93-95 Camaro/Firebird is IMO the only way to go, enough teenagers have wrecked them over the years that there is a decent supply of...

    Carburetor question

Ditto, http://www.collinsbrosjeep.com/main.htm has the whole kit, adapter and all for $399. Just don't close the hood till you take about 3/4" off of the AF mounting stud or you'll get a nasty dimple in the hood, or get the little Chrome filter...

Is 8 psi in tires OK at highway speeds???

There was an article years ago that I read in one of the 4wd rags that was written by an engineer for Interco and in it he stated to do exactly what you are leary of..... divide the actual load rate by the capacity then multiply the max pressure by what you got from that. IE -...
