    Balance Beads

Yeah, put the rear axle up on jackstands, put it in gear, and then get out and watch the tires spin. If there's much wobble at all, balancing isn't going to fix it.

Broken door-hinge welds: cheap n easy fix!

The only way I knew to fix it was to hotlink them from CORE. I remember that used to be a big no-no around here, especially on the FOTD thread. I'll check with my club web guy, and make sure it's cool... In the meantime, I think they're showing?

Broken door-hinge welds: cheap n easy fix!

Like so many others, this thread was pretty much ruined when pee-bucket got greedy and broke all the links. I can't go back and edit my old posts here, but I did redo the original writeup on my local club's board. http://www.cincyoffroad.com/forum/showthread.php?t=12100 If a moderator would or...

    Screw rugged ridge!!

Yes. Not available over the counter, and it's a little pricey, but you can get it in a couple days from Amazon. https://www.amazon.com/Rugged-Ridge-18043-26-Tie-Rod/dp/B001FAK54A?ie=UTF8&ref_=cm_rdp_product

    Car Hauler Trailer

How did you weigh it? Actual axle weight, or total combined weight minus what you know your truck weighs? Because 10% tongue weight would take another ~650# off the trailer axles. So your 7000# axles are only seeing 5800 of it.

    Speedo cable, cruise vs non?

Sorry for the slow reply. I wanted to have something substantive to offer back. First, thanks for the tip. You're right, I should do a little troubleshooting before I just throw parts at it. Second, unfortunately, reseating the inner cable didn't work for me. Mine was actually broken, sort of...

    Speedo cable, cruise vs non?

89 Sport, 4.0, AW4, 231... Yesterday I replaced the brakeline from the prop valve back. Today, my always-been-jumpy speedometer doesn't work at all. I'm sure that while routing the brake line, I pushed or pulled the speedo cable enough to finally break it. The only part number I can find...

Broken door-hinge welds: cheap n easy fix!

 (You could probably weld nuts if you preferred, but tapping worked pretty well for me.)

Broken door-hinge welds: cheap n easy fix!

I know exactly the one you mean, you can see it in my first few pics. I just tightened the bolts and pulled the plate tight against that dimple. Seemed to seat nice n tight, and hasn't budged in years. How old is this thread? Six years? I've driven mine daily and wheeled hard once a month, no...

Broken door-hinge welds: cheap n easy fix!

I had already modified the hinges, to let me lift the doors off. If you haven't (and don't intend to), I'm sure you could just unbolt the hinges from the door, remount them on the body, the bolt the door back on. It'll be more work getting the door aligned (may want to throw some fresh paint on...
