That black box is the ASD relay terminal per the FSM.

On my 98 small Jeep the spot weld that held the threaded portion to the pan failed. New pan was the quick way to fix the problem.

I purchased a WIX filter base #24019 and a WIX filter #4070.Both from NAPA .Several years ago......have not installed yet.:cool:

On my 98 its usually the connection on the sensor is corroded. un-plug>plug back up good to go.

I,ve driven my 96 to Moab twice,,,2008-4300+ and 2018-4500 + from Va and back.It used much gas,no oil and only a brake fluid top off. But be advised ...everything but the front D30 axle housing has been up-graded or replaced in the 445,000 miles I have owned it. Other than normal maintaince it...

Ok,who stopped in Woodstock,Va for lunch at Taco Bell,today,6/17.Pulling XJ w/ a Dark Grey JT. I would have stopped to talk ,but my ice-cream would have melted.

I,ve been running that Summit radiator for years,no problems. Even when used in Moab.

Have you checked the tightness of the hose clamp ?Have the hoses been replaced ,recently or at all? About a 2 hr job to replace, depending on interruptions.

Compare it to what you take out. Use as directed.

Well my first one went 400,000 miles.On the other XJ,s265,000 and 150,000 respectably.
