True...but I bet a lot of people said the same things back then.
Renault is a 'euro, foreign, etc.' as many have put it in this thread...but because of that partnership, we got the XJ.
I'm just saying that maybe this Fiat/Jeep partnership may not be so bad. But then again, if they base it off...
sorry guys...if you do a search here, you'll find a lot of people argue for the use of D-II (or equivalent) only for the AW4 transmission. Otherwise, you might get what you are experiencing now.
In fact, if you look at your drain plug (if OEM), it will have 'D-II' or something like it stamped...
Also, once you get your old rotors off...take them with you to buy new ones...make sure they match up in 'hat' size. Some places have two different rotors and they are not interchangeable.

The e-fan will not necessary come on when the AC is turned on for 97+ XJs...see this:
http://www.askamechanic.info/askamech2/content/view/73/47/
Also, unplugging the temp sensor on 97+ XJ will turn on the e-fan as a fail-safe, but it will throw a code and as far on my '00 XJ, the temp sensor...
