    Manual/Automatic AWshifter

    Brett, I've got a shifter that I don't believe has the normal auto feature on it. Only full shift. I got it with the 4.0 and aw4 i bought and the guy never hooked it up. Can I (or you) convert this to have a full auto mode like the newer ones?

    I too, have found that Warn stands behind their product very well. At least they did with my winch. Very easy to talk to, informative, and parts on the way pronto. I will say MM has improved evidently from when you talked to them though. When the last one broke they asked no questions...

    Oh, well disregard what I said above. :dunce: I'm still surprised that you broke a stub shaft at all. And AFIK, both have lifetime warranties.

    That's interesting. I know you can't say absolutely but it sounds like a Warn hub is stronger than a stock stub shaft, which is more than I can say about a MM hub. Maybe somebody out there has broken a stub shaft while using MM hubs, I don't know. I agree that the Warns "seem" to be tougher...

    Yea, I read that thread. I'm still looking for real world comparison. There's got to be somebody who has used both. I feel reasonably sure that the Warn's will be stronger from what I've read so far but would like to hear firsthand.
