Hi, I'm about to install a rebuilt front drive shaft in my '98 XJ. Does anyone use lock tite on the bolts ? The Chrysler Manual says to torque the fronts to 14 ft-lbs and the rears to 20 ft-lbs, but there's no mention of lock tite ?

Thanks very much for that. The concern is my 7 yr old's head is at least 12" above the top of the seat back. If someone plowed into the back of us, it would not be good.

As most of you know, the back seat in our rigs generally sucks. I also figure it is probably a safety concern for anyone sitting back there because there is no whiplash protection. Are there any options out there ? Are there after market seats available ? Could I fit one from a ZJ ? Thanks...

Hi, I've got a 98 XJ Limited. It came stock with the rectangular driving lights mounted below the bumper, which I've now removed. Can I install a set of PIAA driving lights (75 W I think) and safely use the stock wiring harness, or should I go ahead and use the one that came with the lights ...

Has any run an after market ignition coil, such as the DUI Screamin Deamon ? I've only been able to find a part # on 4WDH for a 4.0 l Wrangler. Will this coil fit in the XJ as well ? Thanks for your help.

If you aren't going to do much offroading ( I don't know why you wouldn't !?), then the BFG AT is your best bet. It is a good all around tire (read: compromise), in everything except mud. Don't buy a mudder unless you plan on doing a lot of that. They ride rough, and result in bad gas mileage.

A couple of things ... If your Jeep is a '93, I'm pretty sure it will have a Dana 35 rear axle You are planning on only 1" of lift ... you shouldn't have to change anything. That's a pretty small amount. You shouldn't need to worry about a t-case drop, steering mods, or anything else. Just lift...

Hi, I've got a 98 XJ Limited. It has about 80k miles. Should I replace the O2 sensors ? Is there a recommended replacment interval for these things, or should a person just leave it alone 'till something goes wrong ? Thanks for your help.

OK, here's the background: I've got a 98 XJ Limited, with the 8.25 and the HP30. I got the local shop to do an RE 4.5 lift with full packs in the back. I also recently got custom adjustable upper and lower control arms with the RE reloction brackets. I run 32 AT's or 33" Truxs with 4.56 gears...

I'm looking for opinions ... I have an RE 3.5" SF system with full packs on my 98. What if I was to remove a couple of the shorter leaves so the springs flatten out, then install some type of coilover shock in the stock location to lift it back up. Would this put too much stress on the the...

I bought a new remote for my 98. Is there a way to program it myself, or do I have to take it to the $tealership to do it ? They charge 1/2 hr of shop time to do it.

I've got the Detours Backbone and it works great. You just trim the front bumper to make it fit. I like it because it also acts as a steering box brace, and serves to provide extra stiffness to the whole front end. It also weights only 33 lb., compared to 100 + for an aftermarket winch bumper.
