The little tabs on the yoke are worn. We see this a lot in our driveshaft shop.
Get a new or good used yoke. You should have to tap the u-joint to get it to seat in one of these yokes.
Also any time the straps are removed it is recommended that new straps and bolts be installed even if...
Check your u-joint angles. you want them to be within 1.5 degrees of each other.
If they are not then you need to angle the rear diff with shims usually available at a spring shop.
Also make sure that the yoke ears are not hitting due to excessive angle.

Cam position sensor will do this. If it goes out while the engine is running, the ECU uses a pre mapped curve to run the engine. This will work until the engine is shut off, then it will not re-start.
One thing you might check is the throttlr cable. Mine sometimes comes apart right where it attaches to the throttle bracket and it will idle very high when it does.
I have been simply snapping it back together, but I really should replace the thing.
Howdy all. I have a 90 XJ that is losing vacuum to the A/C control head. Under acceleration the air no longer comes out of the dash vents, but out of the defrost vents.

I don't know if this is relevant, but I swapped a short block out of a 2005 TJ into my 90 XJ and had to grind down one of the bosses on the right side of the block and dremmel the timimg cover srea and make an additional bracket for the alternator.
Everything bolted up on the driver's side.
