    All-metal 2-row radiator (new)

Sorry for the confusion. It is for a left-hand drive XJ. The "postal service/extreme duty" was a marketing thing I'm sure. The core is approx. 1.5" thick; the rows are 3/4" wide. I neglected to mention it comes with the auto. trans. cooler fittings as well.

    All-metal 2-row radiator (new)

All-metal, 2-row brass construction; new. I bought this one years ago from completeradiators.com (when they were still around) to replace the same model that was dented due to a deer strike. The leak on that one ended up sealing itself so I never needed this replacement; it's been sitting in a...

Replaced motor and tranny mounts...new rumbling noise

It was totally the CV on the rear shaft. I had wrongfully assumed that because I couldn't move it underneath the jeep, that everything was good. I took it off and realized it wasn't far from grenading itself. The u-joint on the t-case side had failed (from lack of grease I'm assuming) to the...

Replaced motor and tranny mounts...new rumbling noise

They're Crown brand OEM-style rubber mounts. One thing I've never really questioned is the hack-n-tap SYE. Everything is tight and has been so for 8+ years, but can a hack-n-tap cause vibration issues? I will admit that the cut on the output shaft was not perfectly square, but I always assumed...

Replaced motor and tranny mounts...new rumbling noise

I guess I had ruled the rear shaft out. It's a 4-year-old Tom Woods unit...no play in any of the joints. I'll need to wait until I buy a new shaft for the front to test it out though... I rotated the tires too; no change. Keep the suggestions coming!

Replaced motor and tranny mounts...new rumbling noise

It's not the fan or the exhaust. I realized the front driveshaft (stock btw) had a tiny bit of slop in the splines so I pulled it. It helped slightly. Could front axle u-joints or wheel bearings be the culprit? I've definitely been getting the angry sparrows noise from the front, so those...

    Broke a transmission crossmember bolt

$135 from the shop to fix, which included them breaking 3 drill bits in the process. Oh well. I hope this thread is a lesson to some. DO NOT even consider easy-outs. If you break one of the frame bolts, spend the money on quality cobalt drill bits, take your time and drill the rest of the bolt...

Replaced motor and tranny mounts...new rumbling noise

I've searched but couldn't find anyone with quite this issue. I just replaced my motor mounts and transmission mount, which definitely cured some 'thunking' noises underneath. But, now as I'm driving at highway speeds (50+ mph) I have a loud rumbling noise which I can also feel under my feet. If...

    Broke a transmission crossmember bolt

I appreciate the comments. Even with good cobalt drill bits, I couldn't get through the snapped-off easy-out (eff those things by the way!). I'm just taking it to a shop tomorrow...oh well.

    Broke a transmission crossmember bolt

I was replacing my transmission mount and, of course, the last crossmember bolt breaks. I've tried drilling it, applying heat, creating a notch and trying to punch it out with a screwdriver and hammer, and lastly, an extractor...which broke off inside of the drilled out bolt. I'm at a loss at...
