Best street tires for 6" lifted XJ?

Hey all, Quick question I never got around to asking, but I have a 97 XJ with 6" of lift, 4.56 gears (d30/8.25) locked and right now I am running 33" TrXus MT radials and I would like to put something else on since I do a ton of highway driving and would like some better gas mileage and save...

Best Years for XJ's around $4000?

If there is a post about this somewhere, let me know, but I have a friend who is in the market for an XJ and he has about $4000 or less to spend on one. I told him I would try to find out what years he should look for and what years he should stay away from. In addition, if you recommend...

    I don't get it...tires..pellets...big issues

Okay, just to play stupid (which I guess I am doing pretty well :) when you say add more weight, you mean more pellets or actual weights with the pellets inside, etc? And yeah, there were a ton of weights on those tires, so again, humor me, what are you thinking for amount of pellets inside for...

    I don't get it...tires..pellets...big issues

Alright gotcha on the nitrogen piece and really don't feel like getting into a discussion about this, just trying to figure out the wheel issue and DW issue. Thanks, Chris

    I don't get it...tires..pellets...big issues

So if I'm reading this correctly, let's say my tires are uneven because of bad alignment, etc that the weights on there overcompensated for. So now taking off the weights, I am dealing with the true tire. How long before the tire goes back to normal shape? I run this Jeep for right now, since...

    I don't get it...tires..pellets...big issues

You are correct about the nitrogen in the air we breathe, but that 1/5 of oxygen honestly is enough to cause issues such as these below. (It's boring, but true) Oxygen and moisture corrodes aluminum and steel wheels. Oxygen also reacts with rubber, another type of "corrosion". When this...

    I don't get it...tires..pellets...big issues

Okay, that makes sense, I'll give it a try with more and see what happens. I do have a feeling that my alignment is off because the truck pulls to the right...not gradual but pretty decent. And yes, nitrogen is a huge advantage in tires, which is why race cars use it, truck drivers use it...

    I don't get it...tires..pellets...big issues

Okay gotcha, but what about my other questions? "So since I started out with 8.5 oz in each 33" tire, what should I try to do go up or down? And should I add .5 oz at at time or more like 1 oz at a time? And I guess at what point in time do I need to start thinking that other things could be...

    I don't get it...tires..pellets...big issues

Okay, well since I don't feel like paying the guys to keep putting nitrogen in my tires, I guess I will have to fill them with air until I find the correct weight. So since I started out with 8.5 oz in each 33" tire, what should I try to do go up or down? And should I add .5 oz at at time or...

    I don't get it...tires..pellets...big issues

What is lateral imbalance? I get the idea, but how does the tire get that? Should I keep the pellets and put on wheel weights or should I check all my steering, alignment, CA's, trackbar, etc first? Thanks, Chris

Or were the weights on the tires before just hiding other problems that I am just finding out about like DW, alignment, etc?
