I think he's talking about the slits like what's on the door panel behind the pockets you made. That might be cool...
Or maybe make them not slits, but just lines that are etched into the pockets and have them not go all the way through. That could pretty them up some, but to keep costs down I...
I would prefer with no holes (less corner snagging like fyrfytr1717's said), round with cup holder and no keyholes. It's not hard to remove the door panel and it would keep the look cleaner. I'd also be down for an unfinished version for <$75 is possible.
Did you check both ends of the ground cable? Maybe the positive cable under the insulation or something along those lines? Main fuse in the fuse box? Beyond that, I'm not sure.
Do you have a volt meter? Check for 12V across the battery terminals. Check the other end of the ground cable, make sure it didn't break or anything.
I know this may sound really stupid, but I have heard of leaving the plastic terminal caps on before.
When I lived in Indianapolis and drove almost all city I couldn't get any better than 15, but since I now do mostly highway driving I've gotten as high as 22 MPGs, usually around 20
totally stock, right down to the tire size :(
