My bad!... This is actually a '91 XJ 4.0l...(my camaro is an '89)... and the codes I pulled were: 12... 24-TPS too high/low.... and 41- short in generator central circuit. Cracking open pumpkin today... I'm scared..

'89 XJ 4x4 with auto trans. When I put the car in trans in Reverse, the motor sputters and dies. When I put it in drive, it turns the driveshaft, although not as much as in Drive. Pulled a few engine codes, but nothing to do with tranny... Any ideas? trans rebuild and torque converter are only...
Someone told me that a PCV Valve Grommet from a Ford Ranger fits perfect on a 4.0 valve cover, since there is no OEM replacement. Does anyone know what year and size motor to ask for at the parts store?? Or does anyone know what else fits?? THANX

I have a '91 XJ 4x4. I'm not sure when, but I've lost my reverse lights. I've now triple checked the dash and engine comp fuses, replaced the neutral safety switch, and checked the wires going to the rear for conitinuity. all good. But still no reverse lights.A buddy said he heard of another...
I gotta '91, and after a few obvious screws in the gauge window and along the bottom the dash face pops right out. For the aftermarket stereo, I used and recomend an aftermarket to stock wiring harness adapter. I also used a piece of foam rubber on the bottom of the stereo chasis for offroad...
