Important

I forgot I had bought an rc crawler from Flex some years back. It was in storage at my brothers place n mom picked it up. Ill grab it next time I'm down there. Now to remember what brand it was n what batteries I need to stock up on.

I think 500 total to start. I will look into those options and may get with you monday if I decide to pull the trigger. Thanks

these will fit and are cheap

only 30c, but the stock ESC is only 80A continuous anyway.

this is the battery that I just ordered for the big one

50% more capacity. Would probably run the 10 for like 40 minutes.

A pair of them in the E6 will go for 25-30, and it draws way more current. ESC is 150A continuous and 300A burst.

they will take forever to charge with a small charger. So you've got a choice. Do you go for a multi channel decently sized charger, or a massive wattage single.
I don't like charging lipos fast, so I choose multi channel 100W. Each battery takes 40-60 minutes, but if you have a few batteries by the time you've discharged the last one you've got a fresh one on the charger and a few more in progress.

I always charge at 1c, it's best for battery life and it's the least risky for the chance of fire.
If you get hardcase packs super glue the grommets around the wires or they will come out and let nasty get into the case.

Great info and the options help. Tbe small packs would seam best to start out with to help prevent breakages, can always bump the pack up as my skill goes up.

capacity won't affect speed.

2s will be mellow.
3s will be fast.

Ah ok. After watching that 3s looks way too fun.

yeah I don't know where you left off i the RC car game, but in LiPo worls 2s is 2 cells in series and 3s is 3 cells in series.
each cell is 3.7v.
motors aren't rated in turns anymore it's kV. Which is no load RPM per volt applied.

Apply more voltage and it goes faster. They all come geared low from the factory. So 3s and a pinion change and it will probably do 50+.
If you can keep the front end down and steer it in a straight line, which is difficult on big monster truck tires and soft suspension.

The e6 is probably doing 45 on 5s and that's just about right.
6s was 50+ and it's nearly uncontrollable.

I joined some sport Trac groups...Asked for tech help and got "you should take it to a dealer"

Probably not...
I asked about whether the PCM had a transmission temp monitor or not as my Bluetooth obd-2 adapter wouldn't bring it up. I got 4 suggestions to drill put my pan and put in a mechanical sensor, one that I shouldn't work the transmission that hard, and one that there is some mystery port on the 4r70w that you can attach a sender to. Never did find an actual answer. That was after I asked about shutting off the running board lights so I can leave the rear hatch up to use an SUV tent. I had to first explain what an suv tent was and why I couldn't just shut the hatch

Ford has a special coding package for upper level obd data. If you have something like dash command, you have to buy the ford option to see the data. It was $10 for my F250, but it unlocked all the engine sensors.

If you think Ford owners are bad you should try a board full of BMW owners.

Any 4l60e gurus here? Think the van tranny is done...I have very little to no second gear. Pulled my boat to Missouri to sell and after getting off the interstate no 2nd. 1,3,4 all work normally. Cruising home now and I should be okay but I'm guessing I need a rebuild and I really don't want to stick much in this thing.

I'm guessing anything about trannies in vans is Cheesy territory

The boat I tow weighs 130 lbs and the trailer about the same...It's more the fact that is a 1/2 tranny with a quarter million miles

My 3/4 ton transmission has 145000 miles on it, has towed 2 jeeps ad 1 jeep to Moab and back, plus winterfest, harlan and anywhere else that it wants to go and still runs at 158 degrees and loves life.

4l60's are great in cars.
