Cherokee vs Wrangler

yeah, the KJ is probably all-around better than my XJ outta the box, but just look at the thing...:D

Every vehicle was designed for a purpose. In order to write a paper on why one vehicle is better than another you will need to have an application in mind.

The Cherokee was designed for the ranch owner who wanted a nice comfortable dual purpose vehicle. As such, it fits the bill well. It is comfortable, holds more stuff, tows well, gets reasonable gas milage, and with a few minor modifications, is just as home off-road. In fact, many Cherokee owners are astounded at the off-road capabilities of a stock unit.

The Wrangler is a decendant of the MB/GPW Jeeps of WWII whose strong point was off-road and not comfort. In stock form, it is very at home off-road. Ride on the leaf sprung units left alot to be desired. The coil sprung units ride much better, but IMO not up to XJ quality.

i like that i have room for tons of stuff in the back, 3 or 4 passengers other than me, if im camping lay the back seats down and its my mini-bago camper. the wheelbase is awesome on climbs compared to my old cj5, it rides so much nicer on the road and off the road. better gas milage than my cj5, fuel injection(didnt have with the cj) and power everything. i think ive only used my a/c twice since ive bought it tho a year ago.

I have a paper I have to write on the subject, wasnt my choice BUY a friend of BY in my english class chose to write why the Wrangler is better then the Cherokee, so I couldnt let him get away with this without any oposition so
I would like to get YOU guys thoughts on why the Cherokee is better then the Wrangler.
The xj has a longer wheel base.
The xj looks cooler.
The xj has more room in it.
It's NAXJA not NAYJA or NATJA.
The xj has a uni-body(oh wait don't put that as a plus)

On a side note, if it is an english paper, Spell Check works great!
If you're going to bag on the guy for speling and grammar, you've got to include all the issues... :laugh3:

I'd recommend writing a paper discussing why the school system in your state is failing.

...I'm so loopy from painkillers right now that I was astonished that I was able to gather enough words together to create a comprehensible sentence in the first place!

Yeah my spelling sucks, but the teachers :lecture: dont care enough to do anything, or if the teacher does care they dont have enough to time try to correct it because we are so pressed for time to cram everything that is supposted to be taught to us for our state required, made by the state, graded by the state tests.

So you know better, but don't (not dont) care enough to make up for it on your own? That's what I'm reading.

Aside from heat, air conditioning, being able to hear the radio on the interstate, room for gear/friends/family, and a decent ride quality, XJ's are also slightly less likely to roll over backwards when you air the front end.

As a person who has taught here and there, I will only comment that its pretty interesting how you don't accept any responsibility for your own spelling problems here.... If your spelling sucks, WORK AT IT! Don't blame a teacher for all that you didn't bother to learn.

I was in elementry school when they were trying the whole "sound words out to spell them". I still do this and alot of the time they are wronge. When I was in high school that would not fly, so I had to learn the correct way's to spell. I am still a bad speller but when I miss spell a word I try to memorize the correct way so next time I don't make the same mistake.
I just don't like to sound like I am from Missouri.

I'm working on not having run on sentances aswell. :)

EVERYBODY does run on sentences and misspellings. Especially with quick posts where I don't proof read or spell check...

You know, my original post started with "Good thing you're taking English class". But then, I figured it was rude and deleted it.

Some folks just never have the knack for spelling. If you would have left it at that, I'd be on to the next thread. As it is, you posted that because a teacher doesn't call you on your (by your own admission) poor spelling, you don't give a mouse's butt one way or another.

:lecture:
Learning is YOUR responsibility, not the teachers. A teacher is a facilitator of learning, not your nanny. Grab your ankles and assume the position because if you don't take any stake in your future now, you'll be taking it up the brown chute for a long time to come. :(

Please dont get me wrong here, I'm not bashing on teachers. Its just that I go about writing and do make errors but instead of them being pointed out to me or even mentioned (refer back to the time thing) it is just ignored so 99% of the time I have no clue I misspelled, unless I get a paper back and I look over it and notice my stupid mistakes. Also I find that I make more mistakes while typing then writing, I guess its because in programs like MS word it fixes small errors and points out larger ones.

am facing the same dilemma i own a 2 door 2001 XJ and i love it but am thinking of changing it and go for TJ the reason is that am facing auto-tranny problems with my xj, i bought a new auto 5 speed tranny the first time and replaced the old damaged one and after a while am facing the same problem and might have to replace my auto 5 speed tranny again any suggestions
