Lokka locker?

Re: Re: Lokka locker?

I'm confused.

I thought the Lokka was a domestic rebrand of the Aussie. The Lokka still comes from down under?

It's the opposite... They are branded Lokka in Australia.

Fine. They click in slow and tight spaces like parking lots, but I don't have any major complaints. The rear one wants you to go straight all the time and will unlock pretty loudly if you get on it coming out of a corner. I barked 35's pulling into my neighborhood :D

So basically coast into corners and expect clicking in parking lots? Sounds bearable given the price, Can get fully locked for less than the price of one ARB.

update, was starting to worry because i never got a confirmation... but i just got a notice that it shipped :D

Awesome. I had a real blonde moment when i was installing mine.

Pull the shafts out, transfer thrust washers from side gears to new side gears, install drivers side side gear in the carrier, push shaft in and install c clip, install spacer and toothed plate thing with grease, install passenger side gear, install spacer and toothed spacer with grease and rotate the toothed piece around until it has the flat spot with no teeth on it and position the shaft in the opening you can see then use a screwdriver or long pointy item to hold it in while you pull the shaft out to seat the c clip into its correct position. Install pins and springs yada yada yada. I could do one in an hour now lol.

update again, got it last week, put it in yesterday with help from sidewaysstarion and xcm, so far so good. drove it around this morning and it's real loud and clunky making sharp tight turns, and every once in awhile it pops, but other than that it's completely unnoticeable during normal city driving. will update again when i get it in the dirt and see how it does.

so far, at 50 bucks cheaper shipped than an aussie is before shipping, i'm VERY pleased with my purchase.

There is always a tradeoff with lunchbox lockers. Have an aussie in my 8.8 and it can give me hell sometimes......but damn does it do the job offroad. My old d30 had a spartan in it and it was awesome......but not as good as the E-locker I have now. Just got to be smart with the right foot

Sorry about bringing this thread back but I need to confirm the noise you guys are all posting about. I have locked my front D30 in the past with a locker similar to this. No clicking or popping in any conditions while on the road in 2wd.

Is this locker different? I would like to put it in my front D30, will it pop and click while turning on the road even if i'm NOT in 4wd???

My Lokka has been in for a few months now and it does make some noise in sharp turns like parking lot situations. But under normal day to day use you never know its there until you need it.

Front or rear? I don't understand why you would hear it only in the front, if you are not in 4wd.

With 75w-90 I have it in my rear lunchbox it does that. I put 85w140 and it shut up.

I have the Aussie in my D30 and never hear it. Never had any issue with performance either

I have the Lokka in my D30 and it definitely makes noise and "binds" on sharp turns. It is awesome offroad though, I don't even feel the need to put in a rear locker. I just adjusted my driving habits a bit and it stays happy.
