Easy trails interest

Well, I need to figure out my plan since this will be the longest wheeling trip to Harlan for me. I normally wheel 2 days but with the event being four, I will need to figure more to do. It will also depend on group size and if we have any other leaders to help run the rides.

They have a trail that I want to run - http://www.harlancountytrails.com/littleshepherdtrail.php

It should a nice scenic ride. It is called Little Shepherd Trail and passes through part of the Kingdom Come Park.

We will run various routes over Black Mountain during several of the days.

Sir Ed, I would love to tag along for this one. I will bring my camera too. OK?:D

You got it Dave!

I'm thinking about doing this run on Thursday as that seems to be the popular day to go.

In for that trail as well!! I was also told by a friend at school that Fish Fossil is definitely a trail to hit

Fish fossil is fun and we've done it on the easy run before.

I've been able to do it with no breakage but my uber spotter (wife) didn't bother to tell me how close I was getting to a rock on her side. Crushed in my passenger front door. Kinda made me sick.

Lol sounds like my kinda trail, I don't mind small amounts of damage, I just would prefer not to completely cave in body panels. I'll have a locker up front by the time of the Crawl, I just gotta put it in the axle I bought and put the axle in the Jeep

I have a front Aussie and an 8.8 rear with a LS diff (might as well be open). We don't do the exit to fish fossil. That is a pretty tough climb as I remember. We loop around fish fossil and come out where we go in. It will be tough if we have a big group to do that.

I think I saw videos of Nick going up that hill climb, is that where he lost his front driveshaft? Looks pretty nasty, tougher than anything at URE at least

No, he lost it in the rocks on Fish Fossil but that was a different year.

I would most likely be in this group as well.

I'm also entertaining the idea of leading a group for this category in addition to Ed's. This category tends to be one of the more popular ones at this event as many people drive there and back. Thinking out loud, we may have to split it up depending on the number of people interested.

If the group splits I don't mind to be your tail gunner Tim... But I won't be in this group the whole trip. I am planning to start easy, and progress in difficulty as the trip goes on...

Front driveshaft I was attempting the exit, rear shaft was on the rocks in the middle of the trail. Fish Fossil and I don't get along well.

I'm in for the scenic long trail ride. Gonna be in the gf's bone stock XJ and she doesn't like body damage so also in for anything nice and easy.

Oh fish fossil is scenic. You'll be fine.........muhahahaha!

I can access the link. I've got to do some more digging to get everything together for this ride. That map should help point me in the right direction for sure.

Nice. It looks like some road time for about 1/2 the trip and the "trail" for the rest.
