Lots of grinding. And grinding. And grinding. Took the welds out, ground through the first layer of frame into the second, so we can get to some good material.

And now on to compressing the layers of frame back together, and welding..

We bent a swaybar arm at KOH, and had to cut it off mid race. Richard picked up a new pair, and I passed them off to Jeff at Simpsonfab for a little reworking.

I don't see is bending these.. Whats the next weak link? ;)

James (our crew chief) took the rig out to a company event last week. I rode along and took photos, I've never see it from outside of the car before.

Two bolts only. We moved it forward by one bolt hole to help the trackbar clear the coil at the passenger knuckle.

Someone brought up to me this morning, I never covered the 'fueling issue' we had the last 20-30 miles of KOH this last year.

The engine was cutting out on the flats, and wouldn't run at all going up hill. Got home, took the entire fuel system apart.

In the bottom of the tank, I found this:

One of our Walbro pickups had come apart!

We were sucking air going up hill with a quarter tank of gas, so the engine would cut out. The parts bouncing around tore up some of the foam, which clogged the fuel filter causing the engine to cut out.

Replaced the filter and pickups, engine still ran pretty poorly. Replaced the injectors and for good measure the pump, now it runs great!

Ready to race!

After doing the half doors and new window nets, we found people with freakishly long arms could get their wrist around the front of the window net. So did the tech inspector at KOH, as it turns out, while we were able to race, it was 'suggested' we fix it before the next race.

I've wanted a handle to make getting in and out of the car easier, so we knocked something together. Just enough to get the job done, and still leaves visibility to the side view mirror.

It could be a liiitle better shaped, but the 3/4" die I borrowed turned out to be for the wrong bender (the owner had never tried to use it), so we bent the handles up using a rebar bender. ;)

We were missing lanyards to make it easier to release our seatbelts. One of the guys at Banks put these together from some tradeshow lanyards. They turned out to be perfect..

XCM was helping us doing our prep for KOH and noticed we had no interior dome light. He donated these bitchin little LED lights which worked out great!

If you were with us during the race, you know we had a ton of alternator noise in the radio, it made our communications almost useless.

Part of that turned out to be crappy wiring for a gopro camera that has been deleted, but to be sure, we added PCI's suggested Kenwood KLF-2 line filter. Not very exciting to photo, but I'm trying to keep this thread up to date. ;)

ideally your gopro wiring shouldnt run anywhere next to another power line. I take it you managed to dig out your car phone charger from all that tape. It sucked running those wires with limited supplies at 2am with a bloody finger.

Before any gopro's go back into the car, I'll buy proper hardwire kits with battery tenders.

Thanks Cal. I ended up finding pics on a facebook page (i believe the Petty Cash page). I took some of your guys idea and incorporated it into my dash build.
