Redbird Trail Work - Oct. 23rd

We'll see ya there Tim!

We're gettin' close... Jeep is on the trailer, and... well that's about it. Need beer and food and I'll be set. Weather looks solid, warm days and cool nights, small chance of rain Saturday.

Sounds like a good weekend ahead. I wish I could stay and camp but I have to work a sorority formal at work with over 250 girls, so i have to be back by 5 o'clock saturday. Tomorrow night the Jeep gets loaded on the trailer to take wheelin. (never said that before ;) )

Sheesh, complain about your job some more. :D Congrats on your first trip out with a tow rig! Once you trailer it a few times you'll never go back. Be careful, keep your distance, and prepare for idiots to use that space to pull in front of you!

Welp change of plans. Wont be making this one. Heading on a roadtrip with discosteve saturday morning to pick up a ZJ. Possible busted tcase or trans problems.

Ill swing by saturday night to see how it went.

I cut corn till 1 AM this morning and am beat as hell. I plan on getting everything loaded up tonight and will hit the road around 8:00 in the morning. Nothing is ready to go at this point....I have to service my truck, load that camper, load the trailer, check the XJ over and load it and I should be good to go. It is gonna be a long haul out there for me with no one to talk to!!

I did pick up a new chain for the chainsaw, so it will be ready to cut something, even if it is one of Aarons legs.

You can cut out one of those trees on the bypass so Neal doesn't narrow the Xterra any more! :D I hear indyORV will be out there cleaning trail 27 that day as well.

I feel like I am cheating on R2CHZ2 going on a wheeling trip this far away and not bringing him.....but I will just have to explain to him that there is no electricity where we are going an he would be cold and miserable.

Aaron was trying to recall how to get to Wampler, here it is on Google maps. Zoom out and get your bearings and make your own directions. :D

linky

Or for the graphically challenged: From 54, take county road 1500W to the south. The road will fork, take the left fork and you'll go through a section with lake on both sides. We'll try to be to the smaller campground to the left, otherwise we'll be in the larger area on the right, hopefully up near the top.

just printed off the directions. says it should be about 8 hours from my place. Hauling camper and XJ, I am guessing 9 hours and about $400 in fuel :(

I would bet we will have our pick of sites...

You poor, poor Farmer! :D

what do we want to do about food and cooking apparateses? The camper should have a working small 2 or 3 burner range in it to be able to cook with...at the very least fry bacon :D I am a big breakfast eater so I am always thinking about food. I am sure snadwiches etc for lunch and I drink my dinner.

Usually sandwiches and beer is all the better it gets for me. I don't know what the current status of the turkey fryer is, but maybe we could bring that...

(and aaron yes I did say "you's", i've been on the phone with my cousin from PA and he said it about 1 million times)

I've considered sleeping in the truck, but my buddy did it at Pig Gig and said it sucked. But hey, Rev has already offered up the camper, if uhhh... you are OK with some "conditions" of sleeping in there.

If you guys get up early enough theres a sweet lil dinner right in the middle of Linton called "The Grill". Nice place to get breakfast. Usually pretty busy though.
