If you got to BITD.com and download the .gpx files of the racecourse you can open the gpx file in Google Earth and see what terrain the racers are covering. There is a dry lake bed at RM 166-167 and the some of the posted speeds are 115mph+.

I'm a big fan of the Hunt farms (1777) guys. They are a bunch of great guys that are just in it for the party!

:clap: I remember that lake from last year's race. We hit it at night. Step on the gas and hold it down until the truck stops accelerating ,...
or you run out of balls Whichever comes first.

You just hope the GPS is accurate enough that you can see a clear exit path when you get to the far side, 'cause there ain't no course markers on the lake bed!

Heard from my buddy a couple of hours ago, who's chasing for #68 Riot Racing 1400 Class......their Driver Mark Ewing was feeling sick today so Co-driver Tony Sorensen and son TJ were running the rig.......Tony died in a crash at race mile 262, about 3:30pm today......


Godspeed Tony.

Thats just really to bad. usually race rigs are pretty safe. with all the safety gear i feel safer< than driving down the freeway. This weighs heavy on my heart, i hope the family will be ok. any word about the son?
