I do is who. Specifically a Classic, in silverstone, or white.
All I've had is 87-90 4.0l, 91+ are pretty foreign to me, and the new distributor-less, multi-coil rascals even moreso. I've seen them in pictures I think Can't recall ever seeing one on the side of the road :repair:
I've stashed back a 99+ intake, and a 62mm bored HO-TB. The Plan™ was to build a stroked RENIX + a polished/matched 7120 with the above for an unwheeled '90 project... Since I'll probably have the head (done?) before I got a new-er XJ, would a 7120 fit in place of the 0331? IOW, no issues bolting new junk on old head.
Is the CPS up front on the crank pulley or still back in the dungeon?
Also assuming the new one came with a 231... I've had a 32 spl AA SYE on standby for awhile, I looked around online today - but didn't see any year-split. Does the VSS from the newers fit similar to the old speedo gear/cable? (In the round hole? It's just a magnet & trigger vs an eccentric gear yes?)
What about the AW4s? There is no more stand-alone TCU on all HO 91+ or when did that start? I assume the solenoids are similar, just getting triggered from the main brain vs a separate module?
Other than those, and the million other 'new jeep vs old jeep' issues (like my 87-90+ crash & spares pile being rendered much less useful) What's not to like about a 00-01 model?
Do the late-model OBD2 freak out in particularly expensive ways? I haven't read horror stories here, so I'll assume they are OK.
Been here since '99 and still have much to learn...
Thanks for insight.
