From L to R, stock CJ pitman (straight) arm, a stock YJ/TJ arm (2.5" of drop), a stock XJ arm (3.5" of drop), and finially an aftermarket XJ arm measureing at 4.5". This aftermarket one is from rusty's and should be pretty close to the drop from a ZJ arm.

Mine ZJ one was exactly 3/4" drop down from a stock XJ. You do realize you cannot not 'just' fit one of these without then dropping the frame bracket for the trackbar exactly 3/4" or raise it 3/4" at the axle end to keep the two parallel. If you dont you WILL get bumpsteer which is when the Jeep will steer itself after hitting a bump or pot hole without any steering input from the steering wheel.

With a 6.5" lift I shouldnt have to move the trac bar though, Right? I was told with a 6.5" lift that I need a 1.25" drop pitman. I can get a ZJ pitman arm for $8 figured the .25" wouldn't make that much of a differance and would save me $50. I also intend to go to an 8.5" long arm setup sometime in the next year so I would have to change it again.

You must ALWAYS change the angle of the trackbar to match that of the drag link regardless of lift!

Well put the drop pitman arm of a 97 grand cherokee and my trac bar and drag link are inline now. The little bit of bumpsteer I was getting is gone and had it up to 80 mph coming home from wheelin today and she rode perfect.

Why were they not parallel in the first place? Did you have a axle trackbar bracket fitted that came with some kits?
