1987 fuel pump

only when my jeep is cold the fuel pump will not turn on. I work the key on and off and it will eventually come on. after it starts the first time i have no problems till it sits for a long time (over night) i have replaced what i belive is the fuel pump relay and the ignition switch. any thoughts?

I cant offer much help, if you have on the right hand side in the engine compartment a row of 4 relays, the fuel pump relay its the second one from the front, hope this helps atleast locate the relay for sure for you. also look up in a search engine "Renix Manual" and you should be able to find the factory service manual for the renix system. It might be of help to you on this, more then I am. best of luck to you
