Are stock lifters good for hi performance valve springs?

From what I've seen mos use stock spec lifters even when using valve springs with a greater spring rate. When does excessive bleed down become a problem with the stock lifters? Are they good enough for all applications?

As far as I know....yes. I got new lifters for a new cam that I'm putting in, and was told to get any stock lifters, so I just went to CarQuest and got them for a few bucks each.

Well, I'm closer. Instead of working on the motor I've been working on shocks, shock mounts, bumpstops, and spring hangers. The goal now is to have it ready by Father's Day so I can go someplace that weekend. We'll see......
