Hello everyone I was hoping you could help me out-
I have a 98 Cherokee Sport with about 100K on it. I started my car up a couple days ago and the engine sounded differently within the cabin, when I lifted up the hood to examine where this new noise was coming from I heard this faint ticking coming from the engine bay, I could not pinpoint the noise exactly but it seems to be coming from behind the fuel line.
I drove to NY and back and checked the engine again, and the ticking is definitely louder. I am positive it wasn;t there before. Under acceleration/deceleration, there seems to be this "airy" sound coming from the engine. Now I don't abuse this Cherokee (unlike my 96) so, now as a college student who is on a budget, can anyone give me some reasonable advice to fix this problem? I really need to figure it out because it is annoying the crap out of me. Should I get some fuel injector cleaner or fuel system cleaner to maybe stop the ticking? I changed my oil and that did improve the situation at all so I am wondering if this is a "deeper" (aka. expensive) issue.
Help anyone please

PS. I have not personally felt any loss in performance, everything seems ok except for the noise that is now quite obvious.
