Fast Steering Ratio

Hi Guys,

I searched the subject but cant find the answer for my question...

My 90 model XJ's steering wheel turns 3.2 from lock to lock. is it a 16 to 1 ratio?

Some companies like AGR offer 12 to 1 ratio will it be 2.4 from lock to lock? (just did the math)

Do you have any suggestions also? i ll do some rally type of driving...

Fast(er) steering is not a big thing around here. You will lose mechanical leverage with faster steering. Just what you don't want with big tires in deep mud, rocks.
Beside on the street what you relay don't want is a top heavy Cherokee that is porn to oversteer and tip. Then place a faster steering box on it. If you see what I'm getting at.
Sorry for the no help.

I know it is not realy desirable with big tires and kind of offroading you guys doing mostly rocks etc..

the thing i do includes speed and i only ve 31" tires

thats why i am interested in a faster box (dont want to play wiyh the steering wheel like making a pizza)

thanks

Those are cool, Crash...

Dodge Durango boxes are slightly quicker if you have your heart set on a replacement, and IIRC there are some GM boxes that will fit that are quicker yet (Camaro perhaps?)

so nobody has experiance with AGR or PSC?
Web lore says AGR is hit or miss, PSC is decent. Sorry, no personal experience.

If it were me, Durango and visit the stuff CRASH linked if that wasn't good enough.

IIRC the Camaro is not bolt-on, requires some minor fab. Holes don't line up or something (forget). No biggie but worth mentioning.
