Strange 8.8 question

So picked up a built 8.8, all I have to do is swap in my Dutchman Alloys and that is almost done. I want to fill it back up while the cover is off and the axle is out of my jeep. But here is the catch, I can't remember how high the fluid level was when I popped the cover so how much gear oil do I put in? If I fill it up about a inch from the rim of where the cover mounts on will that be too much? Remember I have the axle sitting on jack stands with the pinion pointing at the ground and the cover off.

I didnt know that Strange made an 8.8?



I always throw the cover on, install the axle, and fill till oil comes out the fill hole...

or you could search around on www.jedi.com and find the capacity, because I'm sure its there.

It has a Crane so Ill just throw in a little more.
