Transfer case swap from 242 to 231??????

Okay, I've come to the point on my 98 where I want to ditch the 242 and replace it with a 231. What do I need to look for with a 231 as XJ's aren't as plentiful as a TJ. First off, does anybody want to swap??????? Second, if I find a TJ 231 do all I need to do is swap the input shaft for the correct length??

Any help would be appreciated.......Thanks!

I always thought there were more 231's personally.

Spline count and length is the answer,TJ t-case clocking is done at the adapter.
