What is the most you guys would be wiling to pay for an unknown mileage, shot engine due to overheating issues, 4x4, good body condition stock height 1998 jeep cherokee?

with a shot engine? not much. I payed 3400 out the door about 2 years ago for my stock 98 2door, with about 80k on the clock. no rust, 5spd, with no options. oh wait it has power mirrors.
idk with a blown engine since I coulden't put a new one in my self, id say subtract 120% of what it would cost to get a new one put in. my sister got a new engine for her blazer a year ago and it ran her about 4k. so id say 3-500$

yeah - no more than 500 if its in real nice shape otherwise - if its just average I would say 250-300

And of course you can't test out the rest of it like the tranny, transfer case, heat, AC, brakes. $500 max. body excellent

well im glad to hear that! They are asking about $1000, i'll have to figure the differance between clean retail and engine replacement and use that as a bargaining chip. THanks for the input.
