Just looking for a little information on why you don't see alot of people running dodge d44's, particularly the 87 and earlier ones. I know that they have a less than desirable vacuum disconnect on the long side shaft, which means no lock-out hubs, but is that the only real reason? Are the guts of a dodge d44 compatible with other d44's?
 
IIRC they are pass side drop?
 
i am using one. passenger side drop with vacuum disconnect, but mine has lockout hubs and the disconnect is locked in the "engaged" position to take use of the lock out hubs. they are about 4" wider than a ford d44.
