YJ front D30 any benefits?

Is there benefiits to running this axle over the stock xj? I have 4.88 and a Aussie locker on 33"

Its the same axle other than being leaf springs.

But the trac bar mount is moved to over the axle vs under... Right ? Any advantage? I know I will have to weld on spring buckets and control arm mounts but I am a also building a long arm kit. So my stock ca brackets are going to be exxed any way

so your down to fab coil buckets, and control arm brackets to save labor on a track bar bracket?

Is the Yj axle a high pinion?

build your long arm off a xj 30.why make more work and spend more dollars, if you dont need to.

Which has the 4.88s, your current axle or the YJ axle?

There is no reason why your control arm brackets must be "exxed" to install long arms.

A YJ axle is high pinion but, it is also a CAD axle. There is no UCA mount cast into the CAD portion, the trackbar mount is cast there instead, something could probably be fabricated off of it for a UCA though, maybe. There is no UCA mount cast into the top of the diff. either, which will also present a problem. The shock mounts are welded on where your LCA mounts will need to go so they have to be moved. The steering stabilizer bolts onto a portion of the pass. side SUA mount but it can be flipped to the top and your spring buckets can be notched to clear it. Stock YJ steering will leave you with a dead spot in your steering.
Besides that, its a totally bolt in affair:laugh3:
